As I have mentioned I’ve been gone for nearly four years… and there’s a dramatic shift in the USA tuning aftermarket scene. Ground shaking stuff as everyone in the industry knows. The most hard hit segment within the automotive would probably have to be the Japanese, since the yen is at all time high against the dollar.
My long time friend Michael Lederman and one of the finest car clubs I’ve had the pleasure to work with has always been Motorsports Club of Beverlly Hills. I just had a long chat with him at 4 am in the morning. We updated each other on what’s been going in the last few years and he’s told me quite a bit of shocking news… which involves some of the people that we know for quite some times and I will keep the information private. But lets just say, good fellas finished last. And I know some of you don’t believe it, but I’m one of the good fellas, because I’m still here after all the bullshit, and after all these years.
Anyway, Michael tells me the chief instructor for the 2011 year had been Kelly Collins. In all honesty I have not heard of him and I had to look him up. In doing so, I found out he is very accomplished and I found this video of him that shows a lot of his character. I’m looking forward to working with him in 2012 @ Motorsports Club. 🙂
Collins rejoins TRG for the 2010 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series season opener, the Rolex 24 At Daytona, and will drive the No. 66 Porsche GT3 with Andy Lally, Wolf Henzler, Ted Ballou and Patrick Flanagan.
Collins began racing motorcycles at age 7. His first endurance race was in the Firestone Firehawk Series (now known as the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge). He visits the Colorado River when not racing.
